If you would like to begin the process of making Haverford Monthly Meeting your spiritual home, please mail a letter explaining your spiritual journey to the Clerk of Care and Counsel, c/o Haverford Monthly Meeting, 855 Buck Lane, Haverford 19041 or contact us. There is no training, no catechism, or religious education required for membership.

Please feel free to use our Membership Application form although this is somewhat less personable than a letter from you. The clerk of Care and Counsel will contact you about forming a clearness committee for membership. You select 2 or 3 people from the meeting that you feel comfortable with to constitute the clearness committee. The clearness committee will meet with you once, preferably in person or virtually, at a mutually convenient time. The committee will explore with you what your spiritual path has been and what you would like it to be, as well as discerning what level of involvement in the meeting you wish to have.

If you have questions about membership for children or transferring membership from another meeting, please see Becoming a member.

The only difference between the process discussed in this video and applying for membership in our Meeting is that our Meeting for Business in Worship usually approves an application for membership at the first Meeting for Business at which the application is brought forth favorably by our Care and Counsel Committee.
